School Library

The library contains over 8500 printed books as well as providing access to a range of electronic resources and activities, including:

 

  • Fiction books

  • Non-Fiction books

  • Careers and Higher Education books and resources

  • Prospectuses

  • Computers

  • Magazines covering many subject areas, including a back copy archive area

  • Access to a working and reading area

  • Access to electronic resources which includes Eclipse Library Catalogue, ePlatform and JSTOR.

  • Activities and events throughout the year, including activities for World Book Day and Scholastic book fairs.

Reading Intervention

​

Students who need or ask for support with their literacy skills will receive one-to-one support from our librarian. This includes testing knowledge of phonics, developing reading comprehension, and tackling difficulties in spelling.​

 

BookBuzz Reading Programme

​

All students in Year 8 have had the opportunity to choose their own books to take home and keep from the Bookbuzz shortlist. They are all carefully selected by a panel of experts to ensure quality, suitability and to encourage reading for pleasure.

Friday- 8:30am- 4:30pm
